If any of you are highly educated in a field relevant to our writings, please, point out all inaccuracies whether in terminology or plausibility. I and Polydeuces are very clearly NOT professionals, and therefore all writings in this wiki and, by extension, about this world are purely flights of fancy that sound logical to us and anyone who may choose and be chosen to help us. Both of us try to keep our ideas as believable as best we can(although ten million years gives us some leeway), but obviously without a proper background in the field we cannot make everything accurate or even close to it.
Therefore, I leave our world in your reliable hands. Despite this, I must also ask that you keep to protocol and discuss changes with I or Polydeuces before making them. Although believability is important to us, obviously it is not the paramount factor in our choices(as the premise of this world should be making abundantly clear to you). As such, if there is no way to work around impossibility or implausibility, we will simply ask you and everyone else participating to turn a blind eye to that.
If you have a professional opinion about our work(haha, as if this could be called a work), feel free to make a new topic even if one already exists for that article. Simply add the letters "PO" at the beginning of the thread title(ie PO: Astranagant).
Here are some simple guidelines to helping:
1. Is it an error in terminology?
By all means, point it out. Syntactical errors do not affect events within the continuity of Lilliputia, and therefore will be corrected to the best of our ability.
2. Is it a major error or not?
Obviously, if something is absolutely impossible, we will do our best to fix it(although I'd like to think that neither of us would make such a big blunder in the first place). As expected, the opposite is true; if something is only implausible, we will not be wracking our brains very hard just to find a more plausible solution. There isn't any need to use discretion when pointing out mistakes, but please don't expect us to bend over backwards for every little thing.
3. Does it impact existing conventions?
Despite the fact that this Wiki is not necessarily meant for a Lilliputia RP(although it's certainly allowed), both Polydeuces and I will have a fair idea of how many people will be participating in a given thing at a given time. If a proposed change would majorly impact something within an existing and acknowledged Lilliputian campaign, we will certainly be putting less priority on changing it immediately. The easy way to remember would be "If it's old, don't bother."
4. Can it really not be justified in any way?
This may be a little confusing; it applies mostly to flora and fauna within Lilliputia. If you find a proposed evolutionary path impossible and would like us to remove/alter the currently existing animal or plant, please ask yourself if there is no other way it could've happened. Although neither Polydeuces nor I are adverse to the idea of changing something that should be, obviously the less we need to change the better for all involved. As a specific evolutionary path is not vitally important and only rather fun to come up with, that is one of the first things open to debate. Although this is mostly for flora/fauna as I mentioned earlier, it can also apply to developments within Lilliputian culture.
5. Don't be caught up in reality.
Although believability is something we strive for, obviously there are many instances where we must, can, want to, and will ignore it. This is, at heart, a fantasy, nothing more than a dream dreamed by two people. Although this statement will be easily misinterpreted, reality will not be allowed to get in the way of our fun. I'll apologize in advance, but if making something work is too much of a problem, then we will simply drop it and move on. I realize it sounds rather arrogant after asking you to help, but please don't hold it too much against us if we toss aside your help.
Generally speaking, even putting these rules aside, a good rule of thumb is that if something hasn't been majorly edited in a long time, it probably won't be changed unless there's a major problem with it.
There is one more note I must make. If you're just some high schooler or middle schooler or even college student that thinks he's knowledgeable in the subject, don't pretend to be a professional. It'll do nothing more than piss both of us off. Although it's undeniable we'll give more weight to a professional opinion, we won't simply ignore yours just because you aren't. Use the appropriate non PO topic, and we will get to you as soon as we possibly can. If you do happen to use fake credentials, that's grounds for an instant ban. Have faith in yourself; if you think what you have to say is worth saying, even if it's only minor, then go ahead and say it, we won't beat you to death with our idiocy. On the other hand, you might start hemorrhaging when encountering our stubbornness. That's another matter entirely.
